Going Crazy for Camping, But I’m Buying a Home And Need Space For My RV!
If you have gotten into the camping craze that’s been happening lately and love the weekend camper lifestyle, then you may also be in the market to purchase a home in Fresno or Clovis that provides the convenience of RV parking right at your doorstep. While we know that camping has been popular among older retirees, according to Forbes Magazine, “Six in 10 millennial households tried a new camping destination in 2017.”
You’re in luck if you have a trailer or RV and are also looking to purchase a home with space to accommodate it. Part of the appeal of the surrounding Fresno and Clovis area is that they provide you with a variety of homes with space to park your RV at different sale prices. There are currently around 140 homes in the Fresno and Clovis area that offer space to park your trailer or RV; however, these homes are somewhat of a niche market and can be difficult to find and search for. Homes with RV parking can be set up in a couple different ways to accommodate an RV or trailer. Here are the 3 types of RV parking homes you will find in Fresno and Clovis:
1. RV space on the side of the garage:
This is the most common type of RV parking you will see in the Fresno area. There is usually and extension of your driveway leading to a wood of wrought iron fence where you can store your trailer or RV. These homes usually go for a little bit more than a similar house with no RV parking because of the extra space and convenience. You can see an example of one below:
2. “Potential” RV parking:
Have you ever read a description for a home for sale and seen the phrase “potential RV parking”? What that means, assuming the realtor is not completely embellishing (unfortunately our industry in often guilty of that) is that there is a side yard space opposite the garage. This type of home will usually require you to install a gate and concrete driveway leading to the gate if you so choose. Check out this one we just sold below it’s a great example….it takes a little bit of maneuvering to get the trailer up the curb and backed in but they ended up with 71 ft of space!
3. Large lot:
The third type of home that offers RV parking in Fresno and Clovis is simply one with a large lot. These are typically at least 1 acre and reside outside of your average residential neighborhood. This is going to be the most expensive option more times than not. Although, you have endless options to build out any kind of storage or shop you want to house your RV!
