RV Homeowner? This is for you.

The Central Valley is an excellent home base for outdoor enthusiasts due to its close proximity to Yosemite and the Sierra National Forest, making quick weekend getaways and week-long adventures not only possible but also reasonable for the hard-working adventurer. All outdoor enthusiasts have their own flavor of comfort when it comes to exploring the great outdoors, from roughing it to glamping there is one common denominator in both choices: where to store your shelter-of-choice when not in use.

Obviously, tents are easily rolled up and stored on a garage shelf until the next adventure, but what about those who desire a few more creature comforts? RV’s are a fantastic way to get outside and explore nature while also keeping conveniences at a high standard such as running water and a proper bathroom. Although you can’t necessarily roll up an RV and tuck it away on a garage shelf for safekeeping, there are a number of ways you can accommodate your primary lifestyle and satisfy the parking needs of your adventurous side.

Homes that can include RV parking are somewhat of a niche market and can be difficult to search for. To help you find a home that meets your needs, we have compiled a list of the 3 types of homes that can accommodate RV parking:

1. Side of the Garage

This is the most common type of RV parking you will see in the Fresno area. There is usually an extension of the driveway leading to a wood or wrought iron fence where you can store your trailer or RV, next to the home’s garage. These homes are usually listed a bit higher than a similar house with no RV parking due to the extra space as well as convenience. You can see an example of one below:

2. Potential RV Parking

While hunting for your dream home, have you ever read a description of a home for sale and seen the phrase “potential RV parking”? What that means is that there is a side yard space opposite the garage that can accommodate an RV or trailer! This type of home will usually require you to install a concrete driveway leading to a gate if you so choose. Check out this one we just sold below it’s a great example….it takes a little bit of maneuvering to get the trailer up the curb and backed in but they ended up with 71 ft of space!

3. Large Lot

The third type of home that offers RV parking in the Fresno and Clovis area is simply a home with a large lot. These homes are typically at least 1 acre and reside outside of your average residential neighborhood. Out of the 3 options listed, this is going to be the most expensive more times than not. Although it may be more pricey, think of the seemingly endless options you have to build out any kind of storage or shop you want to house your RV!
